Guidelines for Authors

Submission of a manuscript implies: a) that the work described has not been published before; b) that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and that its publication has been approved by all coauthors -if any- as well as by the responsible authorities at the institute where the work has been carried out.

Send an email to revistascriptaethnologica@scriptaethnologica.ar with the following attaches: a)Manuscript, without references to the author/s in order to ensure the double-blind reviewing process; b) Title Page; c) Figures or photos –just in case it was necessary-. Photos should be in high quality.; d) Authorship Responsibility Letter
Manuscripts should be typewritten on a word processor. Articles should have between 6000
and 8000 words. Tables and figures should be numbered serially, and legends to illustrations
should be prepared on separate sheets. Tables and figures will be placed near their first
mention in the text; all tables and figures must be referred to in the manuscript.
Abstract: Each article is to be preceded by a succinct abstract, of up to 250 words, that
highlights the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the paper.
Key Words: To identify the subjects under which the article may be indexed, 4-6 key words
should be provided.
References: In the text, references to the literature should be by author and year; where there
are two authors, both should be named; with three or more only the first author/s name plus
"et al."; need be given. The list at the end of the paper should include only works mentioned in
the text and should be arranged alphabetically by name of first author. References should be
cited following the Harvard Manual of Style.
-Title Page: The following elements must be included: Title of the article; Name(s) and initial(s)
of author(s), preferably with first names spelled out; ORCID ID, Affiliation(s) of author(s);
Name, address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of the corresponding author.

Dictamination Process

Before undergoing evaluation, a plagiarism check will be carried out through the "Plagium" and "Plag" platforms.

All originals will be submitted to the review process by external academic peers, under the double-blind modality. In the event that the evaluations do not agree, the intervention of a third blind pair will be requested, who will produce their own opinion.

The adjudication process requires anonymity, at least, on the part of the adjudicators. Authors are recommended to send their work to be submitted to the evaluation process, especially to avoid references that could lead to their identification within the text, in order to ensure the complete anonymity of the evaluated person. The result of the evaluation process of the articles will be carried out in the two months following the receipt of the article and involves the following phases:

• Confirmation to the author of receipt of your article.
• Review of the general format of the article to evaluate its suitability / non-suitability to the publication criteria (citation format, bibliography format, extension, abstract in English, etc.).
• Sending the article for evaluation to two blind peers, specialists in the subject matter addressed by the work and external to the institution that publishes the journal.
• Receipt of opinions from blind peers. If the opinions do not coincide, the evaluation of a third blind pair will be requested, to whom the article will be sent. The results of the evaluation may indicate three different situations: a) publishable, b) publishable with modifications, c) not publishable.

If the opinions indicate the non-recommendation of publication, the author will be notified and the comments of the peer reviewers will be sent.

In case of being accepted, the comments of the blind peers will be sent to the author, preserving the anonymity of the evaluators.

Those responsible for the edition of the Scripta Ethnologica Nueva Epoca, will send the author the corrections of style or form that have been indicated by the peers or the editorial correctors of the magazine.

The article will be published in the next issue of the Journal, or if the journal number already had all the assigned works, it will go on to the next number.

Privacity Statement

Names and email, and postal addresses entered in this journal will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by this journal. They will not be available for any other purpose or another person.

Preservation policy

The original files and the final versions of each article, as well as the journals in their final version, are preserved in digital format on an external hard drive for the exclusive use of the Journal, to which the Editorial Committee has access. Likewise, the Redalyc repository safeguards the final versions in HTML, PDF and other formats on its page.

 

Copyright

The acceptance of a work for publication implies that the property rights (copyright) are
transferred to the editor of the journal.
